Discovered in China more than 5000 years ago, teas from the camellia sinensis family have been the focus of much scientific research this decade. White Tea is the rarest, and contains the most potent antioxidant blend, of all these teas. The White Tea in Instant Calm Ultra Complex has been found to neutralize 75% of lipid peroxide – an inflammatory free radical that attacks the skin’s barrier and cell membranes – showing significantly better protection than alpha-lipoic acid
and Vitamin E. It was also found to inhibit peroxynitrate formation, another inflammatory free radical that has been implicated in inhibiting DNA repair and cell destruction.
Instant Calm Ultra Complex blends the antioxidant activity of White Tea with Sea Whip – the most potent soothing ingredient found in the ocean to date. Discovered at Scripps Oceanographic Institute in La Jolla, California, Sea Whip has been found to inhibit 90% of the inflammatory enzyme, phospholipase A2 (PLA2). This enzyme is the foundation of the skin’s inflammation response that leads to signs of redness and discomfort and, ultimately, the aging process itself.
Because sensitive skin needs longterm hydration, these ingredients are blended in a base of dermatologically-tested Algae Extract. This extract forms a silky, water-binding film over the skin, giving prolonged comfort to sensitive or irritated skin. Histological studies also suggest this unique algae base significantly improves the skin’s natural barrier function, increasing its moisture-holding ability and natural protection against irritating chemicals.
This clear, skin-hugging gel conforms to the skin’s surface and will not flake, crack, peel or discolor the skin. When stored in a cool, darkened area, the stability of this formula is guaranteed for at least one year prior to opening for use.

Directions:
HOME CARE: Gently apply 1-3 pumps of Instant Calm Ultra Complex over sensitive areas. Whenever possible apply to clean skin. Wear alone or under moisturizer. To help reduce signs of sensitivity in sensitive complexions or counteract surface inflammation that leads to aging: Morning and evening, apply 1-2 pumps of Instant Calm Ultra Complex over clean face and throat prior to applying moisturizer. May be worn alone or blended with other PowerPlexes.
FACIAL PROCEDURE: Pre-treat skin with Instant Calm Ultra Complex before AHA or other potentially irritating procedures to reduce stinging, redness or other visible signs of irritation. Apply Instant Calm Ultra Complex liberally to area receiving procedure. Allow gel to dry thoroughly before continuing with procedure. If extractions have been performed during the facial process, apply 1/2 pump per facial quadrant before applying other finishing products at end of facial. May also be used on acne-prone, AHA-treated or otherwise traumatized skin at end of facial.
FOR SOOTHING SIGNS OF IRRITATION FROM INSECT BITES, SUNBURN, OR COSMETIC PRODUCTS: Apply 1 drop of Instant Calm Ultra Complex to effected area with clean fingertips or cottonswab.
CALM SIGNS OF TEMPORARY INFLAMMATION: With clean fingers, cottonswab or cotton pad, apply Instant
Calm Ultra Complex to clean skin. Application: 1 pump for approximately 4 square inches of skin surface. Depending upon level of discomfort, apply every 1-4 hours until signs are relieved.
CALM REDNESS IN ROSACEA-PRONE SKIN: With soft fan masque brush, blend equal amounts of Soothing Gelle Masque, Aloe & Algae Activator and Instant Calm Ultra Complex. Apply with brush to affected areas. Remove after 5-10 minutes with cool water.
CALMING, AGE-FIGHTING, PORE-CLEARING MASQUE: With stiff fan masque brush, blend 1 heaping tsp. Facial Contour Masque with 1½ Peptide & C Firming Activator with ½ tsp. Instant Calm Ultra Complex.
COOL MASQUE FOR SOOTHING SUNBURN HEAT: With soft fan masque brush, blend 1 part with previously refrigerated Soothing Gelle Masque with 1 part Instant Calm Ultra Complex. Apply brush to affected areas. Leave on the skin for about 10-15 minutes. Remove with cool water.
EXFOLIATE & CLEAR ACNE-PRONE SKIN: With masque brush, blend 1 tsp Facial Contour Masque with 1 tsp. Pore-Purifying Astringent and ½ tsp. Instant Calm Ultra.
POWERFUL LIPID REPLACEMENT: Blend 1 tsp Facial Contour Masque, 1 pump Nutriment Blue Oil and 2 pumps Moisture Boost Hydragel. Add Aloe & Algae Activator until mixture becomes thin but not runny. Apply to clean skin. Remove after 10 minutes.
CALM DURING ENZYME EXFOLIATION: Prep skin by applying Instant Calm Ultra Complex to areas targeted for treatment. Wait until complex is absorbed and skin is dry to the touch before applying the following mixture with a soft fan brush: 1 tsp Dual Enzyme Exfoliating Powder blended with 1 ½ tsps Instant Calm Ultra Complex or distilled water. If used on face, avoid corners of mouth and nasal/labial fold region. Do not expose skin to steam before or during exfoliation process. Leave on skin 2-4 minutes, monitoring client for redness, tingling, itching or other signs of adverse reaction. Remove with soft moist sponges and cool water. Mist with Soothing Mist before continuing facial procedure.
CONTROL SIGNS OF INFLAMMATION IN ACNE-PRONE SKIN: Apply Instant Calm Ultra Complex to affected areas. Follow with Shine-Free Solution.
PURIFYING MASQUE ON SENSITIVE-ACNEIC SKIN: Using a stiff fan brush, blend equal parts Pumpkin & White Tea Activator, Instant Calm Ultra Complex and Zinc & Sulphur Masque. Apply mixture with brush to treated areas. Remove when masque is dry (approximately 7-10 minutes).
ULTRA-HYRATING & SOOTHING SUNBURN MASQUE: Using a soft fan masque brush, blend equal parts Moisture Boost Hydragel, Instant Calm Ultra Complex and Soothing Gelle Masque. Apply to affected areas. Remove with cool water after 20 minutes.
SOOTHING, HYDRATING, MINIMAL-OIL MASSAGE MASQUE: Using a stiff fan masque brush, blend 1 tsp. Soothing Gelle Masque, 1 tsp. Visibly Moist Toner, ½ tsp. Instant Calm Ultra Complex and ½ tsp. Equalizing Serum. Apply with brush to clean skin. This mixture will act as a nutritious, hydrating massage vehicle when used under steam. To allow masque to set, discontinue steam. Remove excess masque after a total of 10 minutes.
SOOTHING, HYDRATING MASSAGE MASQUE: Using a stiff fan masque brush, blend 1-2 tsp. Soothing Gelle Masque, 1-2 tsp. Visibly Moist Toner, 1 tsp. Instant Calm Ultra Complex and ½ tsp. Nutriment Blue Oil. Apply with brush to clean skin. This mixture will act as a nutritious, hydrating massage vehicle if used under steam. To allow masque to set, discontinue steam. Remove excess masque after a total of 10 minutes.
PROTECT DURING EXPOSURE TO TOBACCO SMOKE, SMOG OR OTHER AIRBORNE IRRITANTS: In palm, blend 1 pump Instant Calm Ultra Complex, 1/2 pump Equalizing Serum and a moderate amount of Skin Defense Crème. Apply to exposed skin areas.
SOOTHE STRESSED SKIN: In palm, blend 1 pump Activating Liposome Complex with 1 pump Instant Calm UItra Complex. Layer under Stress Recovery Lotion for oily to normal skin or Stress Recovery Crème for dry skin.
SOOTHE PATCHES OF DRY ECZEMA: In palm, blend 1 pump Moisture Boost Hydragel with 1 pump Instant Calm Ultra Complex. Layer under Calming Bio-Lipid Repair Creme. Reapply 1-3 times a day until condition has been stabilized for at least a week. Improvement should be seen within several days.
BRIGHTEN, HYPERPIGMENTED & SALLOW-LOOKING SKIN: In palm, blend 1 pump each Oxygen Boosting Complex and Instant Calm Ultra Complex. In AM, follow with moisturizer. In PM, follow with Retinol ReSurfacing Complex.
